Discover the beautiful hotspots
Chambre d'Hotes Beesel is located in a natural environment between the German border and the Meuse (maas) River. Beesel is a cozy village in Limburg with an attractive market square. There is a lot to do, such as visiting the two little castles, various chapels and two special mills.
There are beautiful nature reserves in the area, such as the large nature reserve Swalm-Nettetal or the Maas dunes. The Groote Peel National Park is a 35-minute drive away. Hikers, cyclists, riders and water sports enthusiasts can enjoy themselves here. Bikes can be rented at the B&B.
Beesel is also close to the cities Venlo, Roermond and Düsseldorf. Düsseldorf is a nice city visit, and if you're a fashion lover the outlet shopping centers of Roermond and the Flemish Maasmechelen are the place to be.
Beesel is best known for the Dragon hunt tradition, an open-air show spectacle about the legend of Saint George and the Dragon. Once every seven years the whole of Beesel and its inhabitants are dominated by this ancient battle between good and evil. In 2012, the Dragon Sign was officially added as a tradition to the National Inventory of Immaterial Cultural Heritage in the Netherlands. A special recognition for this outdoor spectacle, which is the first Limburg tradition to be included on the heritage list.
